Since 2022, we have been using Jaka Lounge’s salary and benefits research, and this year we decided to rely on it exclusively.
Over the past few years, we’ve found that this research fits our needs best, as it most accurately reflects the real state of the market. This is confirmed by candidate expectations during interviews, as well as by our colleagues when it comes to promotions and salary increases.
This year, we decided to stop using other reports which, although broader in terms of industry coverage, do not offer sufficient insight into the specific characteristics of the Serbian IT market.
We believe that Jaka Lounge, thanks to its specific methodology, manages to reach a more diverse sample of candidates from a larger number of companies than traditional large-scale surveys.

This year’s report offers a realistic reflection of the market along with clear signals about the direction in which Serbia’s IT industry is heading. I found particularly interesting the part showing how flexibility has become a key factor in talent retention, as well as the fact that AI is still not a replacement but rather a support for people in their work.
The next step could be adding a regional context, to better understand where we stand compared to the CEE markets and which skills will make us competitive in the years ahead.

Reliable, Serbia-first, and refreshingly straightforward. Jaka Lounge really gets the local tech scene because they’ve been in the trenches for years. What gives me confidence is how it’s run: a large, structured, direct-to-employee survey, paired with input from industry leaders and a rigorous analytical framework. It’s our go-to for salary bands, benefits, and talent-market trends.
We found the generational patterns both useful and a bit surprising.
And detailed levelling breakdown for salary bands is gold: clear, practical, and ready to plug into our process.
