Annual Tech Market Report Serbia 2026/2027
Pay, Perks & Perspectives
How much are tech roles in Serbia worth today? Which benefits have become standard, and which still make a difference? How are AI, the job market, and changes in the way we work affecting employees and employers?
The eighth edition of Jaka Lounge’s annual research on Serbia’s tech market is now published.
The latest data for 2026/2027 is now available.
The report provides up-to-date data on salaries, benefits, and key trends shaping Serbia’s labour market, with a particular focus on AI, layoffs, candidate availability, employee expectations, and changes in the way we work.
The report is intended for business leaders, HR and People teams, Compensation & Benefits (C&B) professionals, investors, and anyone involved in making decisions about people and organizational strategy.
What Does the Report Cover?
The report is structured around three key areas:
Salaries
Compensation and Market Ranges
An average salary alone is not enough to understand the market.
For each role with a sufficiently large sample, we present salary distributions using several key metrics:
- Median
- Average
- Minimum and maximum
- 90th percentile
- 95% confidence interval
The data is segmented by role and seniority, allowing you to assess more accurately where your salaries stand in relation to the market.
These insights can help you establish market benchmarks for salary bands, plan compensation budgets, formulate candidate offers, assess the competitiveness of existing salaries, and determine how you want to position yourselves relative to the market.
Benefits
What Companies Offer and What Employees Truly Value
Which benefits have become standard, and which can still make a difference?
The report provides an overview of benefits across Serbia’s tech market, helping companies compare their own offerings with market practices and employee expectations.
Among other things, we analyse:
- Bonuses and other financial benefits
- Health and wellbeing benefits
- Flexibility and work arrangements
- Paid time off
- Learning and development budgets
- Other perks that contribute to the overall value of an employee benefits package
The report is useful for companies looking to reassess their Compensation & Benefits / Total Rewards approach, rather than focusing solely on base salaries.
Outlook
What Employees Think About the Market They Work In
Salaries and benefits are only part of an employee’s decision to stay, change jobs, or accept a new offer.
That is why we also explore the broader labour market context:
- Job satisfaction and intentions to change jobs
- Work arrangements and return-to-office policies
- The impact of market uncertainty and layoffs
- Shifting employee and employer expectations
- The use of AI tools in everyday work
- AI’s impact on productivity, roles, and work organisation
- Candidate behaviour in a changing labour market
The goal is to help companies understand not only how much the market pays, but also what is happening to the people behind those numbers.

Reliable, Serbia-first, and refreshingly straightforward. Jaka Lounge really gets the local tech scene because they’ve been in the trenches for years. What gives me confidence is how it’s run: a large, structured, direct-to-employee survey, paired with input from industry leaders and a rigorous analytical…
